Storage Growth Calculator
Estimate how your storage needs will develop — and which storage class fits. All values are calculated live, nothing is stored.

Your forecast
Non-binding guide value based on simple compound growth. A robust design also accounts for performance, availability, snapshots, replication and the data lifecycle — we're happy to work that out together with you.
Planning storage growth properly
Unstructured data, databases and backups make storage demand grow by 15–40% per year in most companies. Expanding only when the array is full gets expensive: unplanned extensions, migrations under time pressure and performance bottlenecks in daily operations.
This calculator shows in seconds where your capacity is heading — and which storage class fits. As a vendor-independent IT company we recommend the technology that matches your growth, not the product that happens to be on the shelf.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the forecast?
It assumes constant annual growth (compound principle). That is proven practice for early planning; step changes — new applications, acquisitions — are something we plan together with you.
Why a 20% reserve?
Storage should never run completely full: snapshots, restores and load peaks need headroom. A 20% reserve on the planning horizon is a proven rule of thumb.
When does scale-out storage pay off?
From a few hundred terabytes with steady growth: scale-out grows linearly by adding nodes — without any forklift migration.
